As part of the Cross-cultural Collaborative Leadership Project for LIS Education established between GSIST-UPR (Graduate School of Information Sciences and Technologies, University of Puerto Rico) and SIS-UTK (School of Information Sciencies, Universidad de Tennessee, Knoxville) a select group of GSIST students can participate in SIS-UTK distance courses. This is a unique opportunity for our students to represent the University of Puerto Rico within an international learning community and to expand their own personal, professional and academic horizons. Academic standing - Applicants must be in good academic standing, enrolled in the GSIST – UPR master’s degree program and have completed the curriculum core requirements by the start date of the requested UTK courses. b. Language proficiency – Students’ communication, listening comprehension, reading and writing skills in English must be at a level sufficient to meet the demands of graduate studies. c. Technical requirements – UTK distance education courses utilize the Centra 7 and BlackBoard platforms.
